Panattoni Park Aylesford has been named Best Overall Scheme – Logistics Park at the prestigious Industrial Agents Society (IAS) Awards, marking another significant milestone for one of Kent’s most successful commercial developments.
The award recognises the transformation of a former vacant brownfield site into a fully occupied, world-class logistics and distribution hub in less than five years, further strengthening Kent’s reputation as a leading location for business investment, logistics and advanced manufacturing.
Developed by Panattoni, the world’s largest privately owned industrial developer, the 90-acre site is now home to major occupiers including Amazon, DHL, Evri, Tesco and Fowler Welch. The development supports approximately 4,000 jobs and contributes an estimated £180 million annually to the local economy.
The recognition comes as Panattoni progresses plans for its next major investment in Kent, having recently submitted proposals to redevelop the former Marley Works site in Lenham. The scheme would deliver 1.4 million sq ft of high-quality logistics, distribution and manufacturing space, creating further opportunities for business growth and employment across the county.
Panattoni Park Aylesford has become a benchmark for sustainable industrial development, combining economic growth with investment in local infrastructure and environmental improvements. Throughout the development process, Panattoni worked closely with local stakeholders to deliver enhanced transport links, public transport support, walking and cycling connections, and environmental initiatives in partnership with organisations including Kent Wildlife Trust.
Tony Watkins, Head of Development for London & South East at Panattoni, said:
“From the outset, our vision was to create a development that would bring lasting benefits to Kent, provide world-class facilities for our occupiers and create opportunities for local people and businesses.”
“Today, Aylesford is home to thousands of jobs, supports major employers, contributes millions of pounds to the local economy and is helping set new standards for sustainable logistics development.”
Panattoni invested approximately £250 million in delivering the Aylesford scheme, transforming a long-vacant employment site into one of the UK’s most successful logistics parks.
The award highlights Kent’s growing role as a strategic location for logistics, manufacturing and distribution businesses, with excellent connectivity to London, major transport corridors and international gateways. As the county continues to attract significant inward investment, developments such as Panattoni Park Aylesford demonstrate the scale of opportunity available for businesses looking to grow and invest in Kent.
